Fit and sizing

Why don't you use S, M, L and XL?

Because they're the reason big-dog gear doesn't fit. Letters describe one dimension — roughly, girth — and large breeds fail on the other three: chest depth, neck circumference and back length. Every size we sell is published as a real measurement range in centimetres instead.

Which measurement matters most?

Chest depth, and almost nobody takes it. It's the distance from the withers straight down to the sternum, and it's what decides whether a harness sits behind the elbow or rides up into the armpit. If you only take two measurements, take girth and depth.

My dog is between two sizes. What now?

Go by chest depth rather than girth. A harness slightly loose around the ribs can be tightened; one that's too shallow will chafe no matter how you adjust it. Or email us the numbers and we'll choose for you.

My dog is still growing. Should I size up?

No — buy what fits now. Large breeds keep filling out until 18 to 24 months, mostly through the chest, and a harness bought two sizes too big is unsafe in the meantime. Expect to buy two sizes between six months and two years. That's normal.

Do you make sizes for giant breeds?

Yes. Our range runs to Size 5, which covers a chest girth of up to 125 cm — Mastiffs, the larger Newfoundlands and Great Danes. If your dog measures beyond that, email us; we'd rather tell you we can't help than sell you something that won't fit.

Is your weight-bearing gear tested?

Support harnesses and car tethers carry a published, tested load rating on the product page. If a product doesn't show one, don't use it to bear your dog's weight. We'd rather lose a sale than have a strap fail while you're lifting 60 kg of dog into a car.

Do you sell supplements?

Not yet. Joint supplements fall under EU animal feed regulation and the claims around them are tightly controlled. We'd rather add them properly than quickly.
